Special Issue of TIBS "The Magic of the Sugar Code"

Trends in Biochemical Sciences (TIBS) has published an Special Issue titled "The Magic of the Sugar Code“ on July 2015 (Vol. 40, Issue 7, p339-418). as the front cover theme representing that insights into the workings of the sugar code make it seem magical.
In this Special Issue, Prof. Hans-Joachim Gabius, member of GLYCOPHARM, has collected Reviews that help reveal the ‘magic’ of the sugar code for the general reader. The reviewers of this special issue take readers from glycosylation of proteins and lipids to functions with artful illustrations. Furthermore, they discuss the recent advances and emerging themes in glycobiology research, highlighting the importance of these molecules in diverse systems ranging from bacteria to immune cells and the nervous system.
