Alessandra Lacetera, the ESR first recruited at Universidad San Pablo-CEU and later at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas under the supervision of Dr. Sonsoles Martín-Santamaría, defended on June 16 her PhD Thesis entitled “Computational Studies of Carbohydrate-Protein Interactions". She obtained the maximum qualification of Excellent "Cum Laude" by unanimous decision of the Thesis committee.

Stefan Oscarson, scientist in charge of University College Dublin (National University of Ireland), and Jesús Jiménez-Barbero, scientist in charge of CIC bioGUNE, participated as members of the committee. Other members of GLYCOPHARM also attended the event, including the coordinator Dolores Solís.
