Interview to Prof. Smetana

Prof. Karel Smetana,  a GLYCOPHARM senior researcher from the Univerzita Karlova V Praze in the Czech Republic, has offered an interesting interview to a Czech medical journal called Lékarské listy, Medical papers in Czech. In the August edition of this journal you can find an interview titled "GLYCOPHARM: registered in the sugar" where Prof. Smetana explains what kind of consortium is GLYCOPHARM, he talks about the purpose of GLYCOPHARM of train young researchers in the relatively new area of science called Glycobiology.

In addition, he introduces the interesting concept of Sugar code and expounds the relation observed between the alteration of some lectins and certain diseases, making special emphasis on the relation with malignant diseases.
